Supporting Children Beyond Barriers

Children Running Outdoors

WELCOME

SCB works alongside schools, trusts and local authorities to strengthen inclusion, improve engagement and remove barriers that place children and young people at risk of disengagement or exclusion.

All support is flexible and responsive, shaped by the realities of education settings and the unique needs of each school community. Whether the focus is behaviour and engagement, inclusive practice, or systems review, the goal is always the same: to help schools create environments where vulnerable learners feel understood, supported, and able to thrive.

Every piece of work is tailored. SCB offers thoughtful, proportionate support that aligns with school priorities while keeping children and young people at the centre of decision making. The approach is practical, ethical, and designed to deliver meaningful, lasting change.

“Shakira has a really extensive and broad set of knowledge and expertise that allows her to support the most vulnerable young people. The fact that she made them feel so supported so often says everything about her work.”

Ryan, Programme Lead.

What we do

SCB Inclusion Consultancy provides flexible, practical support to help education settings strengthen inclusion, improve engagement and reduce barriers for vulnerable learners.

Work is shaped by context and need. Support may involve reviewing inclusion, behaviour and engagement systems in line with the current Ofsted framework, while keeping the focus firmly on what works best for pupils and staff. This includes working alongside leaders and teams to strengthen practice, build confidence and develop a clear, authentic narrative about inclusion and impact. The aim is to support thoughtful, sustainable improvement that feels manageable, proportionate and grounded in day to day reality.

Who we support
